Pacquiao retreating on his fight with Solar Sports

Manny Pacquiao, known as the people’s champ of the Philippines withdraw his statement on switching his fight to be broadcast on ABS-CBN. According to Solar sports, Pacquiao is under their contract until 2011, thus they have the rights to sue the ABS-CBN or Pacquiao on the said violation.

We will sue Manny (Pacquiao) and ABS-CBN,” said lawyer Enrique dela Cruz of Solar which felt betrayed by Pacquiao’s sudden decision to renew his ties with ABS-CBN.

“GMA Network did not offer the same to Pacquiao because the Omnibus Election Code prohibits television networks from doing so. Section 95 of the code states that “no contribution for purposes of partisan political activity shall be made directly or indirectly” by grantees of franchises such as television networks,” said the GMA-7 statement.

However, Pacquiao suddenly withdraw his statement that he would switch to other network and blames ABS-CBN about the allegation.

According to him, he informed the ABS-CBN not to televised his statement of transferring until his lawyer would not found any breach of contract on Solar Sports.

After the confusion of networks, ABS-CBN still wished the best for Pacquiao on Ricky Hatton fight.
